


Spencer van der Zee is a self-taught outsider artist working from a long-standing warehouse studio in Cincinnati's West End.
"My work explores dreamscapes, memory palaces, and subconscious architecture through intuitive painting and illustration. I've developed a distinct visual language over the past decade, creating and sharing work across galleries, nontraditional spaces, festivals, and public murals."
van der Zee has shown work at Howard Finster's Paradise Garden (GA), FOE Gallery (MA), The Graduate Hotel Cincinnati, Bromwell's Gallery, Main Street Window Gallery Resident Artist, Taft Museum of Art, Gallery (CA), Cincinnati Museum Center, Proctor and Gamble, 8K Construction, Art Academy of Cincinnati, BLDG, Mean Street Gallery, Slotin Folk Fest (GA), Artworks Cincinnati Gallery, Constella Arts Festival, Meat for Tea: The Valley Review magazine, Plunge Hotel (FL) and completed murals for restaurants and private clients.
